My Mom and I started our business, MoJo Re-Creations, in November 2010. With extra fabric and lots of ideas, we began making mittens from recycled wool sweaters. After a promising start, we sold off our first batch, receiving warm compliments from friends and family who purchased from us. With our first victory, we wondered what else we could create and discovered that with hard-work and some imagination, we could make almost anything we set our sewing machines to. We began to create handbags, since mittens would soon be out of season. We created stationary using my photography and recycled book pages. Using some of the same images, we were able to create photo tiles from recycled ceramic.
It was exciting to breathe new life into something that would have been discarded. Now we are making many different products like; “Extra Pockets”, Wallets from old neck ties, Purses, Children’s Aprons from remnant vinyl and other fabrics, Cat Toys and Pin Cushions from our scrap wool, and I’m sure we will be making new stuff soon.
Thank for you for stopping by our website, our booth at the local shows, and supporting our business!
